”if you think that the so-called AIT scanners and invasive pat downs are granting flyers “100% safety” then you’re wrong. It’s been said many times before, but the events of 9/11/2001 were a failure of intelligence, not of security. Increases in screening have done nothing to prevent further attacks. Looking at the many terror plots that have been disrupted in the last 10 years, not one of them was discovered at a TSA checkpoint. They were either disrupted earlier by some government intelligence agency, American or otherwise, or were missed altogether and failed more or less by luck (shoe bomber, underwear bomber).
