I work in a Best Buy and this article really nails it. I hate my job. This has been my 3rd year on the sales floor. However, I don’t spend enough time selling because I’m too busy doing my managers job. Management hired 4 people into my department this holiday season and I was expected to train them. I was given two weeks to do it and because I was in school, I was only working part time. So I had about 50 hours to train 4 people. On top of that, I was still expected to hit my sales numbers as usual. Without asking me if they were ready, two weeks later my boss throws them blue shirts and sends them onto the sales floor. The worst thing about it was that none of these people were tech savvy the way I am. I explained the processes but didn’t talk much about the products because I figured they’d been hired because they know them. Wrong. After they started selling, I found myself being pulled all over the store answering the simplest of questions for my new coworkers.

What the company I’m employed for doesn’t realize is that I’ve been writing papers for months in my business program at school about everything Best Buy has been doing wrong. Thanks Best Buy for the A+ grades on my theory papers. Now I’m going to start the job hunt.
